Like most little girls, I was in love with all things sparkly and beautiful. I began to make simple beaded necklaces for my friends as a teenager, and I’ll never forget the feeling of pleasure in seeing my girlfriends appreciate the gifts that I created for them. Today, it excites me to know that I can translate my childhood Vision into reality. I feel happiest designing my jewelry and knowing that my craft creates joy for others. Seeing that women feel beautiful wearing my Art is the best acknowledgement I can receive.
My creative method is a long process of experimentation with materials to release the qualities within them that spark my happiness. I am inspired and fascinated by the play of dark and light, austerity and opulence. I enjoy the rough simplicity of natural ingredients. Once a soft piece of wood or a slice of brilliant Coral touches my spirit, I uncover the best way to display its unique beauty. Sometimes, I fall in love with a component – like a hammered hoop – and find its perfect complement in a creamy Pearl, a deep faceted Garnet, or a clear Quartz Crystal. I love to bring my special flavor to a standard material, transforming it into a beautiful design.
Life is Beauty and Art. Jewelry is my way to showcase the beauty I see in the World. I love the pristine elegance of oxidized metal as a backdrop for the rich texture of wood or the rough cut of Citrine. The union of materials that are rarely found together excites me. This distinctive combination truly defines my art.
